July 15 We processed 14 of the broilers from our original batch. They were BIG birds. Rich averaged about 20 minutes per bird. He did the gory part while I bagged them after they were cooled and drained. After these were all done, we cleaned out the coop really well (with bleach water), put new shavings in and transferred all 37 of the 3 week old chickies into it. We were glad to get the babies out of the shop and into the coop. Then Rich went over to his mom's to help her with a gardening project and I cleaned and straightened up the shed.
July 16 We sold 3 meat birds to a friend (Erik). He is also quite interested in eggs when we start getting them.
