    I started with 6 hens and lost one. Last month I added 3 at 6 weeks old. That's what the duplex and additional covered run is for. I have not integrated them together yet except for seeing each other through the wire between runs. I have a door between the runs so eventually that will be open 24/7 and the indoor bottom of new area will be taken out. I built it to be easily moved out and in if needed.
    I use sand under roost area so it's very easy to clean.
