We finally moved to our 19 acres in March of 2008. We have a donkey named Jimmy (original, I know!), an GSD named Fluffy, and in May 2008 we got 32 chickens (Welsummers, Cuckoo Marans, Ameraucana (blue, splash, black), Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, and Barnvelders) and 2 roeun ducks. I am new to farm life but my wonderful husband is not. I love my animals and where we are now.
My husband and I have 6 children. All but two are out on their own. We are proud of them all. I will try to learn how to post pictures because I have lots!
August 5, 2010: I haven't been on here alot b/c I lost my job and haven't been able to get another. We sold our donkey, gained a Great Pyranees then after a year and a half lost her to snakebite (I still miss her terribly), lost some chickens to preditors and gained some through both broody hens and an incubator. I learned alot about chickens by lurking on this website for 2 years before I ever bought a chicken. The knowledge I gained helped me tremendously and I appreciate this website so much for that. I don't post alot but I do enjoy reading and learning from everyone else's posts.
