Welcome to my BYC page. My name is Jeff, and my poultry outfit is Mystery Ridge Farm. I live in the Appalachian Mountains in southwest Virginia. I have several different breeds of chickens: Hatchery stock Barred Rock and Partridge Rock. I will have hatching eggs for sale from these in the spring for anyone wanting good egg layers. I may even breed for some sexlinks as well. I also have a pair of breeder Old English Spangled Bantams, and just beginning to raise coturnix quail also.

I am mainly focused on my breeder quality flock of Speckled Sussex. I was blessed to find a private breeder who was selling out and drove 6 hours to get them. I have carefully selected the very best for my breeding program and they are just beginning to lay. I will be offering hatching eggs for sale soon. These are some of the best Speckled Sussex I have seen. They have beautiful dark mahogany color with nice wide backs, and round, filled out breasts. The speckling is beautiful. Some have a little extra white in their wings, however not as much as you often see. They have NO extra or solid white feathers in their tails. For some reason I am unable to post pictures on this page, but you can see pictures of some of my birds posted here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=279509&p=140

I plan to be NPIP and AI tested this coming spring. I will post what I have for sale on the BYC auction when I the time comes, but you are welcome to PM me for hatching egg availability or with any questions you may have. I belong to the American Poultry Association and the American Sussex Association.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my page. :)
