Orpington Accident

  1. coolchicken11
My buff Orpington chick has been with my family for a few weeks and about three days ago, we found her neck bent in an 180 degrees angle. We do not know the causes of this incident but we hope to find out. She can't walk or eat. I have to hand feed her to keep her alive. She is still living to this day and we wish to know if this happened to you or if you know what to do to fix it.
    Thank you.

No its head looks backwards like an owl. Today, her neck was fixed but I think she might have Marek's disease. Please let me know if this sounds familiar and you know how to treat it. Thank you everyone for your suggestions.

Is it's head bent back like it is staring at the sky? If so it is a nervous condition called star gazing that causes a chick's head to bend so far back it's beak points at the sky. I have a book by Gail Damerow that talks briefly about this condition.
