Additional Information | Sec. 7-9. Animals not to be kept in or near dwellings. (a) No horse, jack, mule, donkey, burro, pony, cow, bull, calf, steer, goat, sheep, swine, rabbit, chicken, goose, duck, turkey or other domestic animal shall be kept in any dwelling or part thereof, or pastured or enclosed on the same lot or premises with a dwelling except under such conditions as prescribed by the chief of police or his designee, but in no event shall the pasture or enclosure be closer than 50 feet from the dwelling. (b) Subsection (a) shall not apply to property annexed to the city on February 13, 1975, if said conditions contrary to subsection (a) existed on said property at that time, except that said prohibited conditions may not be expanded and when they cease to exist they shall not be renewed. Furthermore, if said prohibited conditions are declared a nuisance by a court, they shall cease to exist and be removed. Subsection (a) shall also not apply to dogs, cats, and household pets. (Ord.
