Hello! I am a former suburbanite! I met my DH when I was 18 and he was 20! We dated for three years and got married on our 3rd anniversary! We've now been married over a year and are expecting our first in August!
DH is a 4th generation farmer! I'm a little behind on all of the farming things, but I'm catching on quickly.
DH's family has always had chickens, and his grandfather even had an egg business. Chickens were the first thing that drew me in about "farm life". We started out with a few Buff Orpingtons, an Easter Egger, a mixed color Silkie, and a Silver Laced Polish! We've now expanded the flock and have learned a lot!
We currently have 19 hens and 1 rooster, and a broody sitting on a dozen eggs! Our little flock give us plenty of eggs for our personal consumption, as well as about a dozen a day in the summer for giving away to friends, neighbors, co-workers, and family.
