We decided to re-purpose our custom built green house but didn't know as to what to do.
We then hit on the idea of starting to keep chickens.
After some research to be sure we were up to the task, my other half set about transforming it into a new home for hens.
We set up in March this year with 5 hens and now are the proud owners of 2 silkies as well that we keep in a separate run during the day.
It's been fun and I really enjoy it and so does 2 of our 4 grandchildren, who love to do a bit of chicken whispering when they stay over.
And one of my friends brings fruity treats every time she visits and practically begs to be allowed to go and spoil the girls.

Our concerns are foxes, cats and badgers, they can't dig under and wire too thick to break. And when they are put to bed we double check every exit and whole run and coop checked daily for signs of preditor. None so far.
