Our Girls A Frame

  1. Christov777
We purchased an A-Frame for our girls. Since being new to having chickens, this is an experiment for us to see if we like it and maybe in a few years we might build a more permanent coop to house more than three. We treated the wood and after about a week we brought them out.
After being in our basement for so long, I don't think they knew what to make of being outside. They did however go straight after the grass to eat and some bugs. After three days they got the hang of going up the ladder for bed time but we are still in the training phase of getting them to use the ladder in the morning. Enjoy the pics!

We installed a light on a timer for the morning and evening that they seem to gravitate to.

HAHAHA LOVE your DH IN the run....Funny!!! It is a NICe A frame. That rubber mat is a good idea.I have one 2x4 tractor coop i made for summe so floor is just hardware cloth. Now that its fall i put a thick piece of sheet vinyl in it and covered it with straw really easy to dispose of the waste with that.I am sure yours will be the same.GOOD LUCK!
