We started our chicken adventure by converting a storage shed in the back yard into a chicken coop. Step one was to clean out the shed. 21 spider bites later, I had a clean shed and a whole new appreciation for benadryl. The exterior of the shed stayed pretty much as it was.

I added a wire door to the front to allow breezes to flow through. I will be adding a solid door when colder weather sets in.

I added a window and a pop door to the back of the building. The pop door opens into a 32' x 32' free range chicken yard that I can put them in when I don't want them in the back yard.

I added nest boxes on the front wall beside the people door.

Roosts were added towards the back of the coop.
Improvements will be made as the chickens let us know that something isn't really working for them.
