My husband and I are building a chicken coop made from recycled wood pallets! We just started building the coop this past weekend and it has been successful! I have never built anything before so this should be interesting! Pictures to follow.......

    UPDATE 2.26.13
After 2.5 days of building, the only things left are the roof, the 2 doors and the flooring!

    UPDATE 3.4.13
    Our coop is now complete!!!

Excellent work! Looks fantastic. We built one of our breeding coops and our grow-out pens from pallets as well.

Thank you kwol! It is very inexpensive. All the of the pallets along with the plywood, has been recycled! The only things we have had to purchase have been the screws, hinges and latches! Will hopefully be posting pictures of the finished project this weekend!

We have made the decision to build a bigger coop on our own and pallets seem to be a great inexpensive idea! Please keep posting your progress with the great pics!

I basically used the same floor plan, with pallets. I built a coop with just one pallet. Now im building another that is 4 pallets long, looks just like yours except 4 long. Great way to build an in-expensive chicken coop! Looking good.

Very cool! Just curious as you are in a wooded environment, are you going to cover the run?
