Plymouth Rock
Barred Created by Chicken_Lover4567
Breed Information, Comments, and Experience with breed:

The Barred Plymouth Rock was developed in New England around the middle of the 19th Century. Most people believe it was created by crossing various breeds, such as Black Javas, Cochins, and Dominiques. However it was created, the Barred Plymouth Rock is a very popular breed in America since it's dual-purpose. Good meat, good eggs, and from my experience, A GREAT ATTITUDE! Barred Rocks make wonderful pet chickens and if kept with huamn contact for the first parts of their life, can be tamer then a furry kitten!

Headshot of my rooster Bengi. His comb has grown quite a lot. He is much flightier then my hens, but I'm working with him. He isn't agressive, so I can't complain.

Female

My hens. You can see they're much darker then a full grown rooster would be. They're great layers. I get 10 eggs a day from 10 hens, so I'm definately happy!

Surprisingly, this is a HEN! Sometimes they grow huge combs. Don't guess they're a rooster until you hear em' crow! This one lays eggs, so it's a hen!
