Poulailler du Soleil

Just built a fairly simple chicken coop for our girls. To maximize size and minimize waste materials, it is 8 ft by 8 ft by 8 ft (drops to 6 ft in the back) with a 10 ft by 16 ft long metal roof. It has a solar-powered electric fence surrounding their run and a solar-powered light in the rear storage area. The next addition will be a 45-att solar array to per an interior light an water heater for the winter. We had to cover their yard with bird netting, as we have already had a hawk dive on them. We have decorated it to match our home, with cedar clapboards and shingles. Way bigger than we need or four hens and a rooster, but we are just getting started

Since my daughter studies French in high school, we have named it "Coop du Soleil".[IMG]
