We have a small flock of 7 which in cludes a young highliner rooster who arrived by deception masquerading as a pullet. While reluctant to keep him he has developed into a beautiful bird and lords it over all and sundry. Unfortunately he has taken astrong disliking to one of our old docile isa brown layers and attacks her mercilessly ripping flesh from her skull or pecking her savagely. If it was only to establish domination we would toleratethis but he seems intent intent on killing her and she is terrified of him , huddling at our legs. Can anyone suggest a peaceful remedy, short of permanently removing him? Our patience with his overt aggression is wearing thin.Describe 'ruffled feathers' here
