Why chickens? I really wanted an alpaca (I thought). I must admit, this crazy idea of raising chickens was my
husband's. I think he was concerned he would come home from work to find alpacas grazing on the lawn.
I thought about chickens and we decided it could be a great idea, but I really had never been
particularly enthusiastic about chickens - until I got some of my own! Now I see chickens from a
different perspective and while I don't always want to admit it (friends don't always understand

We live in NH with a dog, 2 cats, and several lovely chickens.
