One of the greatest needs for our birds is protein , if they are moulting of growing , protein matters.

I bought 100 mealworms and did that for a few years, ohh the smell

Then I googled cheap protein sources for chickens ... lentils !!

I bought a plastic strainer , some green lentils at the grocery store and soaked them overnight in a quart jar.

In the morning , you’ll see bubbly water. Drain off water.let sit with no lid on.

Add water every day and rinse it off right away for 2-3 days.

So I bought this tray set up today , looks like I can now sprout much more and easier, you pour water in the top tray and it drips down to the other ones

    Look at the pictures to see the progress. 7DCE91AF-F034-4832-AB5B-18CB8C262102.jpeg BB1E0998-A69E-41A0-9E65-36827FD974DA.jpeg 1A32B460-193D-4371-8B75-0C8160FACA54.png B9F2FA6A-ABB1-4113-92DE-F97FA90B72DB.png 6E44FD56-CD97-4578-A8E4-10AF679B628B.png 4A3B20B1-EF0F-438C-8F4B-F95EF13C2E9F.jpeg 0941EE7F-F9C5-4781-AF9F-E897AB83C763.jpeg

A good idea, sprouting your own lentils. I might have to give that a go myself! I really liked the last photo that showed how much they grow in a short amount of time.

This looks so easy! The instructions are clear and the day-to-day progression picture is a big help. The only things missing are how much and how often do you feed them and which stage of growth provides the best boost. If you could add that bit of information, it would be a big help.

I don’t know the answer to those questions
