This is our first atempt at raising chickens and mine at building wooden structures. Its mostly built from scrap wood and pallets but i did buy 3 sheets of 1/2" plywood for the roof and walls, 6-2x4s, and 6=1x4s,shingles,hinges,locks,clasps,and paint. It took awhile to build in my spare time and weekends prob about 2 months. We have a creek on our land so the critters are abundant (foxes, hawks, coons, opossums, skunks) you name it we have them so it had to be pretty critter proof. W e got our chickens about a month ago from a local farm supply store(not tractor supply) they are now 7 weeks old and we put them in the coop on Easter sunday.1 Bantam Brahma(Buffy),1 Golden laced wyandotte(Ginger), 1 Silver laced wyandotte(Mimi),and 2-Barred Plymouth Rocks(Belle and Esther).
