Have you ever seen a peahen try to adopt other species of fowl? If so what were they and how did it go? This is Nancy, her mate, Ned was killed on the road last spring. She made a nest after that but of course nothing hatched. Last year she stood by as one of our guinea fowl hatched 26 babies, she adopted and helped raise them. This year she laid one egg and never even tried to hatch it, instead she stood beside our Sebastopol geese Romeo & Juliette, waiting for their eggs to hatch. Today they hatched 7 goslings and Nancy is waiting patiently at their side.
