We have just started to raise Double Barred Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons which were directly imported from the U.K. from the Pricilla Middleton lines. We will be offering auctions of 10+ Lemon Cuckoo Orpington eggs starting in January of this year 2012 on the BYC auction page.
We will also be offering the rarest of the rare Swedish Flower Hen eggs which were also directly imported by Greenfire Farms. We recently purchased chicks from them and look forward to being able to offer eggs from them in approx 5 months. We will keep you posted on when they will be available. Please let us know if you are interested in being one of the first to be on our wait list for these gorgeous rare birds.
Anyone interested in purchasing eggs either directly from us as a presale or through one of our auctions, please let us know of your interest as we may start to offer eggs directly for sale at a set price as soon as more of our birds start to lay. We will be happy to supply you with a price just let us know how many you would like to reserve. We currentlly have two hens laying and 10 more that will be laying in the next few months. These eggs are full English Double Barred Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons. Presold eggs should begin to ship around January 16th. We will have eggs available from January 16th through the fall and will be posting new listings throughout that time period. Contact us with any questions you may have. Please include your phone number with your order as winter eggs will be held at the post office for pickup. We are also offering a 72 hour heat pack available for an additional $5.00 to keep your eggs warm during shipping and to prevent freezing in the winter. Please let us know if you would like to add on the heat pack and we will send you an adjusted invoice.

These Double barred lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons are from top British lines. The color genetics of lemon cuckoos are complex and fascinating. In order to show the striking barring pattern that captivates poultry enthusiasts, two barring genes are required, and only roosters can carry two barring genes. Some roosters and all lemon cuckoo hens can carry one barring gene, and this single gene results in a bird with a slightly muddled pattern of white and buff, but no clear barring pattern. So, in this variety the roosters win the awards. Hens will produce a high volume of large, tinted eggs. These are great winter layers and are a very docile friendly bird. Our Roosters started to show the barring pattern at five weeks old and the hens show pattern as well.
We have been having a fertility and hatch rates of over 95% on our test hatches. However, due to variable techniques we cannot guarantee your hatch rate. The incubation equipment and techniques vary among customers. Furthermore due to the handling of the package by the USPS, we cannot guarantee the safe arrival of your eggs. There are risks with shipping embryos through the postal system. Please be aware of these risks when buying hatching eggs and to have a reasonable expectation of your hatch rate prior to bidding. We take great care in wrapping each egg individually and use bubble wrap, paper, and peanuts to ensure that your eggs arrive safely and in excellent shape. We will provide you with fertile fresh eggs and guarantee that you will get the number of eggs you paid for undamaged and in pristine shape. If any of the eggs you paid for are damaged exceeding the extras we provided, please let us know immediately and we will be happy to replace the damaged eggs and only ask that the original shipping is paid for the replacements. We will include extras with your order just in case any are broken to cover any loss during shipping. We want all of our customers to be happy with their orders and will be happy to work with you if you have any problem at all.
Only Paypal instant payments will be accepted for any auctions we run this year or for any presales. No E-Checks will be accepted. We only sell in the USA to the lower 48 states. We will not ship to Alaska or Hawaii. No international sales. Please pay for your eggs as soon as the auction ends as this increases your hatch rate, as hatching eggs are time sensitive. Please send us your address and your email within 24 hours of auctions end and we will send an invoice for the eggs plus the shipping charge. Normally shipping will cost around $16.00-$18.00 for Priority Shipping. Expedited shipping is also available if requested for approx $35.00-$45.00 depending on where the eggs will be shipped please let us know your zip code and we will be happy to give you a quote for Expedited Shipping costs. All eggs will be collected and shipped out Monday through Wed and Saturdays. We will not ship on Thursday, Friday or on holidays as the eggs tend to sit at the Post Office. Please let your eggs settle for 12-24 hours after arrival pointy end down to let the air bubbles settle. This will improve your hatch greatly. We welcome you to contact us after your hatch to let us know how your babies are doing. Happy Hatching!
