When will my BO's start laying? They are 1 month old

Thank you. The chickens seem to be calmer with the stool to sit under and the net makes me feel safer.

If in a pen, cover it with bird netting, make sure the chicks have some places to hide. Netting won't take away their terror, it will prevent the hawk from swooping down and grabbing any of them.

I think yes. At that age they are more susceptible to all kinds of predators. I lost three month-olds to raccoons this week, so now I am bringing the babies inside at night. The coons pulled the birds right through the wire fence. House cats are risky too. Are they out in the open or inside a pen? Good luck!
