The Hen House on the Hill

  1. North Jax Hens
Ever since I started baking my own bread a few years ago I've been moving more and more towards gaining more control over my own food chain. Raising chickens for eggs is just a natural extention of that. This year I plan to grow a much bigger organic garden and intoduce chickens into the mix for bug control, composting and fertilizer. Plus you get eggs out of the deal, win, win. [IMG] We'll see how it goes. My plan is to start out with 4 black sex links and add one every 6 months or so to keep egg production constant until reaching a max of 10 chickens. After reaching 10 then I'll just replace non laying hens.
