We included a septic system in the dog run turned chicken coop. I only use it when I do a deep clean.

Great coop and run! I wish i had the amount of land you do to make mine bigger. I used tree branches from a tree my brother removed in the run, and something about the size of a closet rod in the coop. They definitely like it better than a flat surface.

    Have fun with your chickens!

Thank you for the suggestion, we used a wooden closet rod not metal, even still I wondered if it should be flat.

Your coop is beautiful. Be cautious of the metal roosts they can be hard on their feet. 2x4's with the edges rounded off are a better choice.
