Moulting is a natural process; usually starting at the end of Summer.
Whilst Moulting, Chickens slowly lose their feathers; new feathers grow in their place creating a beautiful new plumage.

During their Moult, Chickens need lots of protein and carbohydrates.
So, here's a list of treats you can give your Flock to help them through their Moult:
Eggs are a great source of protein; and a delicious treat too!
When boiled and mashed, (with the eggshell), they make an excellent and nutritious treat for your Flock.
Cooked Pasta is an excellent source of carbohydrates.
Whole Wheat Pasta contains more protein than other types of Pasta.
Cheese is a great source of protein and carbohydrates.
Cheese is also slightly fattening, making it a great treat for underweight Chickens.
Potatoes are a great source of carbohydrates.
When boiled and mashed, they provide a wonderful treat for your Flock!
Potatoes are great for underweight Chickens.
Sunflower Seeds are full of protein, however they are very fattening.
(Sunflower seeds should only be given in small amounts.)
Peas are another great source of protein.
A favourite of my Flock.
Mealworm is very high in protein!
And it is loved by many different species of birds, Chickens included!
Cooked Rice is another wonderful source of protein.
An enjoyable treat for any Flock.
