rip Toby, Jr. you will be sorely missed :*(

I got my brooder and boy was I unprepared for how big and heavy this thing is! It came in 2 boxes with the main box being about 75#. It was a flat box with tons of metal and a burlap bag of screws. I definately thought I was in over my head. Of course hubby was out of town for 3 more days. So I had to decide do I attempt it or wait for him? I dove right in! It took me about 9 hrs over 2 days but I did it all by myself. What a feeling of accomplishment :) I am really glad that it is pretty predator resistant because I went to the feed room yesterday and there was a 4 ft rat snake sleeping on top of it! I got my snake catcher rope and he was relocated to the other side of the woods to catch mice - not chicks!
Here are some of my chicks:

Here are some of my adult birds on the next page. I mostly have just a mixed flock right now af mostly pet birds. Hubby thinks I am running the rooster rescue though as I have a whole coop devoted to just roosters! And yes, they all do get along just fine.
