We wanted to make a coop without having to spend any money... we ended up spending a little, but everything we got was from habitat for humanity so it was pretty cheap and I think it turned out well.

I already had a fenced in area that we used to use for fostering puppies so we just built this coop into the corner of what was already there. Added two walls, a lot of chicken wire (to patch up corners and cover the top of the outdoor portion not seen in the picture), a door, window, and a few fixings from what we found around the yard and voila... A very homemade, upcycled chicken house!
A chicken door has since been added.

I'm interested! I would like to see pictures of the building process if possible. :)

I'm a big fan of tree branch roosts, too! Very cool!

Great job! I bought most of my hardware from habitat for humanity, and got all of the wood and siding pieces from the construction dumpsters in my neighborhood. I love not spending money. Haha. I really like the tree root idea. I think I may take that idea from you.

thanks! We love it too. My favorite part, aside from the fact that it cost basically nothing to build, are the tree branch roosts that my friend thought to install!
