Additional Information§ 93.01 KEEPING CERTAIN ANIMALS; RESTRICTIONS. (A) No person shall keep or maintain any livestock or fowl in any zoning district other than the A-1 district or maintain any structure or enclosure for keeping such animals within 150 feet of any dwelling or building used for human habitation in any zoning district other than that of the owner of said animal or the owner\'s family. (B) It shall be lawful for any member of a recognized national pigeon association, to keep, house, and maintain racing homing pigeons and fancy breeds of pigeons which are banded with numbered leg bands showing the same to be registered with the associations, providing the pigeons are maintained in a closed loft and are exercised only on the owners property. The pigeons shall be allowed so long as they do not constitute a nuisance or create a hazard to public health. (C) No person shall keep or maintain any building or enclosure where the livestock or fowl is kept unless he or she shall keep the same at all times in a clean, neat, and sanitary condition and free from substances attracting rodents and insects. (7) COMPANION ANIMAL. For the purposes of this section, COMPANION ANIMAL is defined as dogs and domesticated cats over the age of six months. Neither livestock nor fowl as defined herein shall be considered pets or companion animals. (A) It shall be unlawful for any person to allow or permit any horse, mule, swine, sheep, goat, cow, poultry, or domestic fowl or other such animal to run at large upon the property of any person or persons without the consent of the person or persons; or to allow or permit any such animal or fowl to run at large upon any of the public streets, alleys, or other public grounds of the city, unless the animal be under the direct and immediate control, or restrained by being tied or led by the owner thereof, or by his or her authorized agent, except no person shall allow or permit any such animal or fowl upon any public park in the city. (B) It shall be the duty of the Animal Control Officer to apprehend any animal or animals, except poultry or domestic fowl, which shall be found running at large contrary to this section and to impound the same and immediately notify the Police Department; and all the provisions pertaining to impounded dogs in § 93.25 shall apply, except for disposition.
