Hi. I've not been on this forum for a while, and wanted to share my latest hens which I adopted about 2 years ago.
They are Bella, a Light Sussex, and Stacey, a Silver Laced Wyandotte. Both girls are so much healthier than the Hybrid Brown
Shaver hens that we adopted initially, and now sadly passed. Our current hens who are rare breeds here in New Zealand
are so healthy and never get sick. They do get broody in the hotter months, and being the older breed, don't lay in the winter
months, but we don't mind, as it's a better way of life for them to have some time off laying. I love how Stacey, our Light Sussex
comes running up to us when free ranging, with her legs going full tilt! Here is a photo of them both:
