More importantly, where are we?

• Beryl is an old railroad stop about 7 miles north of us... just a ghost town now.
• Beryl Junction is the intersection of UT Hwys 56 and 18, about 7 miles south of us. There's an elementary school, a community center, a restaurant, and one of the busiest tire stores in southern Utah.
• We're about 20 miles from the Nevada border, with Caliente being our closest Farmer's Market (about 65 miles one way.
• Our nearest town is 17 miles away in the next county. That's Enterprise, which is kind of the "valley hub". There's a grocery store, a True Value Hardware store, a convenience store, a restaurant, the requisite LDS church, and both an elementary and high school.
• Over the mountains to the east of us (47 miles) is Cedar City. That's where we go for some health care, the nearest Wal-Mart and Home Depot, as well as Cal Ranch and IFA.
• The "big city" of the south is St. George, 57 miles to the south. We get there twice a month on the "Senior Bus". Bev (one of my roomies) is the bus driver, and "Mom" and I are both old enough to ride it. Sure beats using our gas to get to St. George.
That's where we have even more medical services, and more shopping choices. We just go nuts at Costco, Lowe's, and an even larger Wal-Mart. Oh, can't forget about the "Smith's" store.
