I'm Rebecca, I have 8 chickens and I got them September 27 2011 so I'm pretty new to them. I have 3 buff orpingtons, 3 black australorps and 2 silver laced wyandottes. One of the BA is a rooster. His name is Jet and he is my baby. :) he loves to be held and pet and loves to be given treats. I thought he was a girl cause I paid for a girl so I named him Melanie but had to change it. He is a very sweet boy. He does have a lot of brown feathers..I guess it was a problem with breeding or he isn't all BA. But I love him any way. I finally got my parents to let me get some so yea!!I would love to hear about your chickens, and chicken story's. Here are a lot of pictures so enjoy. ~~Rebecca <3
Describe 'Willow


My chickens are so sweet they run to me every time I open the coop to feed and water them. They come when I call them and there a highlight to my day every time I see them. Animals are my life! I couldnt live without them. I want to be a Poultry Vet or breeder when I am older. I also want to get a Silkie or two this summer, but it probably wont be till next year. I love byc cause its so helpful and the people are so nice and every one has great tips for raising chickens,duck,turkeys etc.

I love him so, so much.
I would do anything for him,
but im not supost to have a
rooster were I live so I might
have to give him away to
some one who lives on a real
farm. :( I hope i dont have to
but I dont know what will happen.
We are going to ask the people
on our street if they care about
all the crowing. Love you Jet <3
