| Additional Information | Sec. 18-15. Keeping wild animals or fowl. It shall be unlawful for any person who owns or has control of any wild animal or fowl, whether beast, bird, insect or reptile, to fail to guard or keep the animal or fowl in such a manner as to not endanger the person, health or property of the public or of the neighborhood where the animal or fowl is kept. (Code 1960, § 5-12) Sec. 18-16. Keeping farm animals prohibited. It shall be unlawful to keep, harbor or maintain within the city limits any horse, mule, sheep, cattle, hog, pig, goat, geese, turkey, chicken, livestock or other farm animals, including but not limited to grazing and browsing animals. (Code 1960, § 5-13; Ord. No. 2331, § 1, 10-26-99) Sec. 18-17. Noise; disturbances; destruction of property; chasing vehicles. It shall be unlawful for any person to keep or harbor within the city any animal or fowl which: (1) Barks, howls, screams, cries, crows or makes other noises by day or night which disturb the peace and quiet of any person or family; (2) Habitually destroys or desecrates property of any person; or (3) Habitually chases cars or other vehicles. (Code 1960, § 5-14) Secs. 18-18--18-40. Reserved. Sec. 18-7. Contagious diseases. It shall be unlawful for any person, except duly licensed and qualified veterinarians and animal hospitals, to keep within the corporate limits of the city any animal or fowl having a disease infectious or contagious to humans. Animals or fowl having diseases infectious or contagious to other animals shall be placed in veterinary hospitals whenever possible, or if on the advice of a duly qualified veterinarian hospitalization is unwarranted, the owner shall keep the infected animal or fowl separate and apart from other animals or fowl susceptible to the disease. Upon certification by a duly qualified veterinarian that the infectious or contagious disease constitutes a serious health hazard to either humans or other animals, the diseased animal or fowl shall be subject to removal from the city, impoundment or destruction. (Code 1960, § 5-5) Sec. 18-10. Running at large--Generally. No person owning or having in his custody any animal or fowl shall permit the animal or fowl to go at large within the corporate limits of the city to the injury or annoyance of other persons or their property.
