We started off with 3 New Hampshire pullets, and 3 Easter Eggers. Our neighbor used to have chickens and something happened to their flock. The barred rock hen in this pic was the only one left of the neighbor's flock. When our chicks were big enough to be moved outside last spring, she came running and clucking! She was "Mommy Hen" and taught our babies what to do. We named her Gypsy. Wooster the Rooster, (named by our 2 year old daughter) was a free rooster that just happened to be an Easter Egger too. We love our little mixed flock.
All the gals were not sitting on their favorite log for the group shot. Oh well, maybe next time.
