No! You just chew it, you don't eat it. Candy you eat, gum you chew. They are two totally different items.

Now that you have reworded the question, I still stand by my answer. Gum is gum, candy is candy, but I will say that I will not let my kids chew Bazooka or Double Bubble gum. They have to chew sugar free gum only. The sugar content in bubble gum is much worse than a candy bar, IMO, because it stays in your mouth.

if you put it in your pie hole and it's sweet and flavored, its candy of some sort.
 
I think it depends on what kind of gum it is...
if its that real sugary bubble gum (hubba bubba..)..then yes..
 
You need to get a SOMETIMES vote, its keept in the CANDY Isle, so it is part of the CANDY family, but if it is sugarfree then obviously it can not be considered CANDY.

However BUBBLE GUM is candy.

I think at this point you need to revert back to the BOSS is always right, so So as I am so often reminded THE WIFE IS ALWAYS RIGHT, so ask her, and she will tell you the ANSWER.
