Sorry I just read the post about knocking the food ever where. The pipe I got had a small bend that I planned on using. I think they would actually have to reach inside the bucket to get the feed. The extension discussed could help but I think the bend extends it too.
It's been working great for me. I used a 3" 90° pvc elbow, which you can get from Lowes or HD. I cut the inside bottom portion of the elbow so the feed can flow down as the chicken eat it.
