9 left in teenager hospital room. Can tell still not feeling their best. Couple have puffy eyes. No other symptoms. Going to separate after I move out big boy teenagers. Hopefully, less than a week in hospital for these. Have only lost 2 to sickness out of 15 teenagers. Persistence pays off. Medicated 2 & 3 times a day with VetRX, added Terra-Vet 10 to water daily and gave fresh medicated water twice a day. And originally put meds in eyes that were matted shut. Now down to VetRX twice daily and Terra-Vet 10 in water daily. Hoping all these make it.

In conclusion on my first bought with sickness, if/when there is a next time... I am going to seek out a vet that treats chickens and find out exactly what I need to treat and get meds for that diagnosis, specifically.
The last 4 never recovered from my missing a few doctorings. The mucus was so bad it covered their necks and down to chest. Large clumps of feathers were starting to come off with mucus when I would wipe them down with warm wet medicated clothes. I could tell they were not going to get better so they went to the cull pile over a week ago. Their faces never swelled like some of the pics I saw on diseases. Seemed like chest cold type symptoms. Not a fun experience.

4 of 5 toddlers hanging tough. Same meds as teens. Can tell they will be in a little longer. 3 have puffy eyes. No other symptoms. Can tell they do not feel good. Stopped putting VetRX under wings for a few days. They weren't even feeling good enough to prune themselves. Still putting VetRX in mouth. They are still eating and drinking. So hoping 1 is all I lose to sickness.

Oldest teenaged boys going back out to pen today. No symptoms for a couple of days and warming up for 2 or 3 days here. So they get discharged from hospital.

Separated out the older roo's and put in their own room. They are feeling good enough to pick on each other. Gave them a stick/roost to occupy them for a couple of days.

Down to 4 toddlers. Had a pass to chicken heaven overnight. I could tell yesterday they sort of stopped pruning feathers. Knew they didn't feel well. Still got 2 with puffy eyes this morning. Not going to put VetRX under wings this morning. But am going to continue to put in mouth.

Toddlers brought in from dad's freezer few days now.... In hospital room 2. All covered up. But can tell they are still cold. Condition same as teens. Maybe able to close hosp. next week. That would b nice. Costing about $10 a day in meds.
