Spring 2014. Pip was the first to hatch from the clutch that was brooded by our dearly departed Butterscotch. Being newbies & unprepared for the "accident", we improvised & put her clutch in a canning kettle with a heat lamp, a thermometer & hygrometer & amazingly enough we hatched two chicks:) Not nearly what we had originally expected, but all things considered, I'd say it was a miracle we hatched any at all.

Fall 2013. Percy, the best rooster ever!! He earned his girls' respect & adoration with his undying devotion, protection, provision, cunning "pick-up lines" & an awesome chicken wing dance;) He rules with a gentle but firm wing & never attacks or behaves aggressively to any humans. Fearless (if not stupid), he reprimanded & chased my rottie out of the coop & pen on more than one occasion;)
