My wonderful carpenter just beginning! And to think, I had to spend two months convincing him we needed chickens!

Trying to figure out how to get the roofing joists without compromising the barn roof.... eek!
That's my handsome carpenter hard at work! Most of our design ideas came from the Witchita Cabin Coop, but of course we are partial being that we are in Missouri! Thanks to the baldassari family for sharing your coop, I have seen it's design duplicated on this site a few times, and it's a tribute to how awesome of a design it really is!
This is old cedar planking from a demolished playground set. We bought this off of craigslist for $100, and it will be the exterior trim to the coop itself. This cedar really takes the stain beautifully after the old stain is sanded off... Don't worry, this is the exterior, the chickens will have no contact with this from inside of the coop, we are going to insulate!
