Getting closer... Lots of clean out doors
Winter cam blasting in before I could secure their outdoor run... So I grabbed some pallets, screwed them together. Stuffed them with hay grabbed the canvas trap off the wood pile, and hoped winter is kind. It's not pretty but it should hold till spring.
The little girls. Most have grown their feathers back, except Goldie. She is slowly gaining some but has big bald red patches. So like any good Mom would... I made her a coat. This one is made from a shrunken wool sweater. It should help keep her warm.
Finally ready for the chicks (though far from finished). My granddaughter and I having a cocoa party in the coop to celebrate.

Inside shot. The windows still have paper backing on. The three holes go to laying boxes, and the hole in the floor goes to the secure cage underneath.
This is what those poor dears will see.
I am not a carpenter, just a Grammy. But I watch, and hopefully have learned enough and I LOVE the create and use my power tools!
