Predator proofing: I found as 10'X20' X6' chain link dog kennel on Craig's list for a decent price. After setting it up I dug a 12" deep trench around the perimeter. Using 24" chicken/poultry wire, I buried 12" and secured the other 12" to the chain link. I partially filled the trench with rock from the garden, then back filled with dirt. I had some flat stone from an old neglected flower border that I used to border the run and create a entry walk/path. The final security was adding old used 2"X4"X4' wire garden fence I had to cover the top. I had a few 10' lengths of conduit laying around, so I used it to arch some of the overhead fence to make more room for me to maneuver while cleaning. All in all it seems pretty darn secure. All of the years I have been here and have never seen a stray dog roaming, and just this past week there were three instances where neighbors were chasing their run-away dogs through my yard. I'm glad I took the time to make the girls secure.
