We wired the windows and raised the entire houses on 4x4"s with steel wire buried one foot deep all around. The run is reinforce with steel and rock. We also have an added open pen attached for added leg room. We let them free range once a day when we have everyone outside to watch for predators. We haven't lost one yet. In the winter everyone comes inside. We have a very large shed that we turned a corner of it into a winter bungalow for the chickens to keep warm. We get eggs all winter long.

My other grandson with Phylis our Polish and Amelia a mixed breed. We also have Leghorns and a Sultan hen.

This is Elvis our Sultan Rooster. His picture is a little tilted. He became very nasty after his first year and couldn't be trusted with the children. We gave him to a neighbor for breeding.
