Have you tried shredding a little newspaper in strips and putting a treat inside?

Most hens can grow spurs but may not. My hens have the whole backyard to run, dig, sun bathe. I lock them up at night. I put fences around some of my plants since the love orchids, succulents, etc. They get left over fruits and veges that the parrots don't eat as well as pellets.

Thanks, I will try. Yes, it is a hen and she has laid eggs in the past. She just happens to be a hen with a spur like that. She is six. We currently have three old ladies.

My hen has a long, sharp spur. She doesn't run because of it. How do I trim it? I have attached a photo below. This is not urgent so i didn't put in the emergency forum.
