hello! I just got 3 Silverudd chicks as well. They are all roughly 3.5 weeks old. The black chick is showing white feather development on the chest and the in the wings..just a few but I didn't think they had any white feathering. The first primary feathers are also white. Is that normal?

Im leaning toward boy but wanted everyone's opinion. Comb is a pinkish hue and has 3 rows with centre one very raised. No wattles yet but def dominating and pecking other birds

well at 4 weeks its pretty obvious...rooster! He is very calm and sweet right now so hopefully he stays that way? fingers crossed.

updated pic one week later :) that comb is getting bigger! but no red yet...

what kind of antibiotic did you give them, my little one is acting very similar :S

ya...I've been thinking boy from the start too...even before the white. Its the personality...just seems a bit jerkish haha jumps on the other chicks, not very friendly, def. dominate personality. But it is a lot of white. I will post an update when he (fingers crossed) she gets bigger.

Hello! I am new to chicken keeping and I just purchased this chick last week. I believe it was around one week old when purchased. I know it's early but wanted to know if anyone can give a guess as to whether this is a male or female. It is def. bigger then all my other chicks of the same age...
