I am almost more excited about getting a Silkie. My mother in law is in charge of "growing them up" in the brooder then they come home after about 6 weeks.

I wouldn't mind some suggestions for alternatives if we can't get our black and blue Orpingtons. I have heard that Barred Rocks are also large happy birds.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Let's see. I love to quilt-- or piece to be honest. The only thing I have quilted is a table runner so that doesn't really count. We have horses, so that means we enjoy turning money into manure :-) I am an avid history reader and also enjoy some gardening.
