Thank you so much! I do have a flock living outside but I was thinking of getting a few bantams as house pets and they can lay eggs at the same time. Of course I would let them free range (under my supervision or my rooster's) for a good amount of time each day.
I'm thinking of getting some bantams like Cochins or Silkies but I want them to live in the house. Is this possible? Can someone give me a rough estimate of how big they are? Than you so much!
I WANT one of my hens to go broody, it they all seem very reluctant even though I have a rooster. I ordered some Buff Orpingtons, because they are supposed to get broody a lot, and they should arrive tomorrow!!! So excited! I just want to experience the joy of having one of my hens raise babies...
Well, they are named for the Campine region of Belgium, which is known for its sandy plains, moors, heat, and wetlands. I don't know if that helps or not.
Thank you so much for the warm welcomes! I feel very welcome to BYC! I definitely will try searching for chicken names and try to find some that will fit the chicks that are coming next week! Again thank you guys so much! You really know how to make someone' s day :D
Hi, I own 12 pullets and 1 rooster. I order some chicks a few days ago and I would LOVE to have some advice for cute names. Thanks a lot! I'm new so I didn't know anywhere to start a new thread but this forum. :D
I ordered my chicks from Welp because they have free shipping for 25 chicks but I dont know if they are very good or not. Anybody order from them before? Also, my speckled sussex rooster mated my barred rock and one of my black sex links. What will the outcome be? Thanks!
