From the PM I just got it sounds as though it is animal cruelty and someone should be penalized for torchering animals.

I've lived in the New Orleans area almost all of my life and have never heard of the Mardi Gras chicken run. Guess there weren't a whole lotta chickens on the westbank I do agree I would never allow it for one of my babies, but I probably would a broiler. Edited because I can't spell tonight!

Pricing question? My Black legs have been laying so we are hatching some out. What should I sell the day old chicks for? I have been trying to get an idea of pricing but since they are "rare" I have seen them for $60 for a pair that are a year and a half...

Mike, I wish I had the room. My kids have been asking me for years for a horse! Hopefully, within the next 2 years we will be moving to a larger piece of property (10+ acres) and then we can have a horse.

Do any of you plant grass for the winter? If so, what kind of grass? My chickens are eating the grass that has now turned brown, but they much rather eat from the garden. Who can blame them? Maybe if I plant something for them, my veggies will be safer.

I am looking for plans to a front roll nest box. I only need 6 holes, 4 would probably work. All of the plans I have seen were all for rear rolling boxes. Any ideas?

I was looking for front roll out plans and have only found rear plans. If anyone can guide me to a thread or can send them to me, I would appreciate it. I only need a 6 hole box, but could modify existing plans if they are for more or less. Thanks!

Kuntrygirl, I wish I lived closer . I can use some cartons. I have all my neighbors and friends keeping them for me so I am only selling to friends and family since I don't have any cartons that did not come from a grocery store.
