We have this nest box and the hens we have pretty much will rarely if ever use it. They prefer to lay on the ground or we also have some other boxes and they prefer those. Why is it that they don't like this nest box set up? Any ideas would be helpful and welcomed! Its not to high they can...

Great article I have found success this same way. We actually had a broody come off with just a few chicks different pens eggs were all bad. So we went and picked up some newly hatched chicks and placed them with her few that were a few days old. She took them all no problem and has raised them...

We use our Cochin Bantam hens when they go boody to hatch all sorts of birds from geese to peafowl eggs. Not only great brooders but they are great mothers when the chicks hatch also. Love having the baby chicks around there great fun.
