How eggciting!
When I first moved my girls out, they had no light other than natural and their door was closed. I started leaving it open after about a week to make sure they knew where home was.

They eat crumbles.
Scratch.
Berries, melon, apples, etc.
Cukes, cabbage, etc.

So, I had the newbies I bought yesterday in their own half of the run yesterday separated by some chicken wire. They seemed fine eating some scratch dropped between them and The Littles, so I removed the barrier this morning and let them have at it.

My coop is 4x5 and the run is 35x4.
The birds do get access to my yard (50x20).
I have 2 stations for water and food at opposite ends of the run.
