Hey all, Looking to build a hatcher from a 48 qt igloo cooler. I was wondering if anyone with experience regarding the incukit could recommend which size of incukit I would need. I am guessing the 100 watt but they have been sold out for a while. Thanks

Everyone else is looking real strong! Running around like crazy and eating/drinking great. I'm surprised how much human contact these little turkeys seem to be craving, they run over to me the second I open the brooder.

I appreciate the advice. Unfortunately he was just too weak to make it. He kept going for another day but just got too weak to eat or drink on his own. We gave it our best though. Thanks again!

Day 20, out of 26 eggs 14 have hatched with 3 more pips. Everyone looking good and strong so far. Moved 7 into brooder, 7 still drying in the incubator. All supposed to be black copper Marans but got one blue gray chick out of the bunch. Has feathered legs like a Marans. Wonder if there was a...

Day 14. Did my first culling candling. Removed 10 eggs showing no development at all out of 36. The remaining 26 are all showing great looking little bodies that wiggle when candled. Things are looking better than I first expected. 4 days till lock down!

Well, day 10/11 and just finished my random sample candling. 36 total eggs in the bator, I candled a random 12 and saw growth/embryo movement in 7. Mostly my darker eggs showing progress. Was careful to wash hands before handling. This is so exciting! Despite a few wide swings in temp I'm seeing...

Set 36 Jean Wade Marans last night. Should be hatching around the 29th-30th. This is my first run with my thrift store turbofan hovabator. All system checks and two day dry run have looked good. Wish me luck!

I'm guessing the orangish one might be a buff Orpington. It's little baby feathers look buff. I couldn't begin to guess with the other three. They all look great though!
