    Hen can't walk...

Today I am going to add electrolytes to her water (all I have is emergen-C) - I am also feeding her a mixture of layer pellets, boiled egg yolks, honey, vitamins powder, grated apples and carrots, egg shells and yogurt (with healthy bacteria) - she loves it. Good Luck -

    MITES on rumps

The mites are only on the rumps of the chickens - we were using a dust that is pretty nasty stuff and really don't want to use that again. What do you use to ride mites?

    Mysterious Death

I have read that chickens like screws, nails, hard rubber stuff and things similar to that. But there was no punctures inside her gizzard or crop - we investigated pretty good because we were curious and concerned and we still are.

    Mysterious Death

Is an impacted crop common? What are the signs? We did not notice anything wrong with her - behavior. She was outside the coop door but not shut out - my hens are the first to roost every night so she must have passed away before the night came. The screws were 1/2 inch screws just sitting...

My California White Rooster, Charlie is not playing very nicely.

Thank you all for your info...what is a good rooster for the hens AND kids? The kids are not afraid of him - he just follows and when they turn towards him he attacks - it has only happened a few time and that is a few times too many - and yes, the claws, jaws and wings are going like crazy -...
