I am NOT getting free range time with my chickens right now - it's too freaking hot, except during the strong thunderstorms. :( Jul 10, 2019

I have hit my one year anniversary of being here - and we actually have chicks and a mostly ready coop! Here's to research ahead of time.

Finally starting with our first chicks, having a coop built for us. My daughter is @Purple Rose and is a future vet tech.

Hi Celticdragonfly, I'm Shanny123 in the Great North West. I like your photo of the dragonfly on the flower. Is it verbinium? Pretty picture!

I don't actually remember where I got that picture from. I love dragonflies.

Are you building your coop using a kit? We got our kit from Tractor Supply. It is pretty sturdy and they sleep in the coop part and lay their eggs there. I wish it had a bigger fenced in run. But it's standing in a large fenced in backyard, so they're out in the yard free ranging most of the day. It works. :) Ours is small and we only have 4 hens.
