    Broody Hen Thread!

No, I would replace the 4 eggs she is presently sitting on and start new ones. I'm thinking she became broody on Sept. 23, so tomorrow would be 2 weeks. I let her sit on eggs in the nesting box, but realized she was changing boxes on me. I separated her on Sunday. She is a healthy little one. I...

    Broody Hen Thread!

Should I replace my broody hen eggs after she has set on some for 3 days?? We will be away for 8 days. They should hatch 4 days before we get back. The neighbors will be checking in. She went broody last week. I tried to discourage her. She finally won! I have her separated in the coop...

    What worm is this?

I decided against the Rooster Booster, because I'm thinking this is a tapeworm. It won't help with that. Also, I have read so much negative info about the antibiotic in it. However, I ordered it online and it arrives today. Thinking I may try it with just her. Her droppings look soooo much...

    What worm is this?

Perhaps. I didn't see any "worms" today and her droppings look really good. I did get out a dried meal worm and it definitely looks like that. She has some dried mucus around her nose. Eating well. Not noticing the head shake today. I thought she was suffering from clostridium perfringens last...

    What worm is this?

Working on a better photo. The ones posted were enlarged a couple of times. It's getting dried up. Any chance we can start ruling out what it's not?

    What worm is this?

I was thinking tapeworm, because of the segments. Her droppings are firm, although she did just have a couple of weeks of green watery poo. Hope this photo helps.

    What worm is this?

Hey, you guys might be right! I did throw out a handful of mealworms a few days ago!!! Seems these have been showing up just since then. Thanks for looking. Glad I didn't rush into the worming process.

    What worm is this?

Thanks, CT, for taking a look. And you read my mind! I was just thinking of sending Kathy a message and asking her to take a look. I'll do that tomorrow if I haven't solved the mystery by then. Heck, maybe it isn't even a worm! It appears hollow and it isn't alive.

    What worm is this?

Hi All, I believe I have a worm problem, but I'm not sure which one. I am adding a photo. My little hen also is sneezing and shaking her head. Just want to add this is my first post, although I have been a dedicated reader for a few years. I've always found good info here without needing to ask...
